Levan Bakhutashvili (age 40), Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Bakhutashvili is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He handles legal and associated matters including current and future exploration and development contracts, acquisitions and disposals, financings and corporate compliance. Prior to joining Frontera in 2006, Mr. Bakhutashvili practiced law with DLA Piper LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, Georgian Consulting Group LLC and Baker Botts LLP. While in private practice, Mr. Bakhutashvili primarily focused on energy, transactional, infrastructure and commercial law, as well as dispute resolution, and advised clients on a number of key foreign investment projects, most notably major oil and gas pipeline projects in the Caspian region operated by BP. Mr. Bakhutashvili has participated in drafting a number of key laws and regulations forming current legal and regulatory framework for oil and gas operations in Georgia. Mr. Bakhutashvili holds Diploma in Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the Tbilisi State University School of Law and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Bakhutashvili is admitted to practice law in Georgia and in the State of New York.
